You already know you want an Oyster Perpetual. Now you just have to pick the color. That one choice sets what you pay, and what the watch is worth if you sell it later.

Every OP is built the same underneath, right down to the case and bracelet. The only thing that changes from one to the next is the dial. Some colors are easy to buy and sit close to retail. Others stopped being made and cost twice as much.

This guide ranks the best Oyster Perpetual dial for each type of buyer. You will see real prices, which colors hold value, and how hard each one is to find. Pick the one that fits you, then message us and we will help you track it down.

The 6 Best Oyster Perpetual Dial Colors, Ranked

Below are the six we would buy, each one a watch we own or would happily source ourselves. The full lineup by size comes after.

1. Silver Sunburst

Buy the silver if you want one OP that works everywhere. It is the dial people keep the longest.

The surface has a fine brushed finish that catches the light. It looks bright at some angles and almost dark grey at others. It works with a suit and it works with a t-shirt. Silver comes in all 5 sizes, and it is the color we see on most first OPs.

2. Medium Blue

Pick the medium blue if you want color but still want to look normal. It is a soft matte blue, close to the color of jeans, and calmer than the brighter blue Rolex used before it.

This is the dial for the buyer who finds silver boring but does not want questions at dinner. The matte finish does not throw off much light, so the watch stays quiet on the wrist.

It works with most things. Buyers who want a bit of color and nothing more usually stop here.

3. Matte Black

Buy the matte black if you want the most low-key OP Rolex makes. The 2025 version has a flat finish instead of the shiny one before it.

Black is the quiet pick, and the flat finish makes it quieter. It hides small scratches and it slips under a shirt cuff. Most collectors we know who buy a black OP already own a sports Rolex. They want a watch they never have to think about, and this one does that job better than any dial here.

4. Pistachio

Rolex Oyster Perpetual with pistachio green dial beside close-up of its Oyster bracelet with Rolex crown clasp on dark green velvet

Pistachio is the new pastel we would put money on. It was the color everyone talked about at Watches and Wonders 2025, and it is the one buyers ask for by name.

Rolex released lavender, pistachio, and sandy beige together in 2025, all in a soft matte finish. Pistachio is the one people want. It is odd enough to notice but soft enough to wear every day, and that mix is what held value on the older colors.

If Rolex keeps making a few of them, this is the current dial most likely to be worth more than retail in a few years. Beige is the opposite. It sells slowly for us and stays near retail.

5. Turquoise “Tiffany”

Rolex Oyster Perpetual with turquoise Tiffany blue dial beside close-up of its Oyster bracelet with Rolex crown clasp on dark green velvet

Buy the turquoise if you want the OP that collectors already fight over. This is the dial that turned a basic Rolex into a watch people queue for.

Rolex released the turquoise 124300 in 2020. The watch cost around $6,000 new, and at the top of the market one sold for about $69,000. Rolex stopped the color in the 2023 update, and in 2025, the 41mm reference changed from the 124300 to the 134300. The turquoise 124300 is now a used-only watch.

Turquoise is the most faked OP dial there is. Check the history and the papers before you pay.

6. Bright Yellow

Buy the yellow if you want a loud discontinued OP and can afford one. It is one of the five colors Rolex launched in 2020, and it almost never comes up for sale.

Yellow was one of the brightest of that group, and Rolex dropped it after a short run. It stayed in demand, so good examples still sell for a lot. This is not a watch for every day. Most buyers wait for a good one instead of taking a worn example.

Which Oyster Perpetual Dials Hold Their Value?

Rolex Oyster Perpetual dial value chart grouping Silver, Matte Black, Medium Blue as near retail; Pistachio, Lavender may rise; Turquoise, Yellow, Coral Red above retail

The discontinued colors hold their value best. Turquoise, yellow, and coral red all sell for far more than retail. Rolex stopped making them, and the supply is fixed. It is the same pattern you see in whether Rolex holds its value across the catalog: the scarce pieces climb, the common ones do not.

The current colors work the other way. Silver, matte black, and medium blue are made in large numbers. They sell close to the $6,400 to $7,000 retail price, which went up in January 2026.

The 2025 pastels sit in between. Pistachio and lavender can go up in price if Rolex keeps making few of them. Nobody knows yet if it will.

The 2020 dials are glossy. The 2025 dials are matte. Rolex will not make the glossy ones again, so clean used examples should get harder to find and more expensive.

Discontinued Oyster Perpetual Dials Worth Hunting

Rolex Oyster Perpetual rarity scale from easier to find to rarely appears: Turquoise, Yellow, Coral Red, and Celebration dials

Some discontinued dials cost a lot but are still easy enough to find. Others almost never come up for sale.

Turquoise and yellow are the easier two. Both sell well into five figures and both go fast, but they do come up. A turquoise 124300 is usually gone within a month of being listed. Have your money ready before you start looking.

Coral red and the Celebration dial are the hard ones. Rolex dropped coral red after a short run and it almost never appears. The Celebration dial was only made from 2023 to 2025 and now sells for more than $20,000. If you want one, wait for a good example instead of rushing into a bad one.

Where to Buy an Oyster Perpetual Dial

You have three places to buy: a Rolex authorized dealer, a reseller, or another collector. The authorized dealer sells at retail, but it rarely has the color you want, and it cannot sell you a discontinued dial at all. If you are weighing that first route, we cover how an authorized dealer stacks up against the grey market in more detail elsewhere. So for most of the colors in this guide, you are buying from a reseller or a private seller.

On an OP, you are paying for the color, and the colors people want most are the ones that get copied. Turquoise is faked more than any other dial, so it is worth knowing how to spot a faked Oyster Perpetual before you pay. Ask for the papers and the history first, even on a plain silver.

At Majestix Collection, we collect these ourselves and we buy and trade with other collectors. Every watch we list is one we have held. We write down what we see, scratches included, and we film the watch so you know you are looking at the real one.

If you have a color in mind, or a discontinued dial you have been after for a while, we can track down a specific reference for you. Tell us what you want and we will tell you straight what it takes to find a good one.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which Oyster Perpetual dial is most in demand?

The turquoise “Tiffany” dial is the one people want most. Coral red, yellow, and the Celebration dial come next. All four are discontinued, so the only ones left are the ones already out there. Of the colors still in production, pistachio gets the most requests from buyers who want a new watch that could be worth more later.

Does dial color change the service cost?

Dial color has no effect on what a service costs. Every OP has the same case and movement underneath, so a coral red costs the same to service as a silver of the same size. Rolex suggests a service about every 10 years, and the price is set by the movement. Color only changes what you pay for the watch and what you get back when you sell it. For the full breakdown, see what servicing an Oyster Perpetual costs.

Which dial is best for a first Rolex?

Silver sunburst or matte black is best for a first Rolex. Both are still made, so you can buy one new instead of hunting for a used example. Both sell close to the $7,000 retail price, which means you are not paying a big markup on your first Rolex. They go with anything you wear.

Final Thoughts on the Best Oyster Perpetual Dial

The best Oyster Perpetual dial depends on the kind of buyer you are. If you want one watch for everything, buy the silver sunburst or the matte black. Both are still made and both sell close to retail, so you are not paying extra just to get one. If you are still weighing the whole lineup before committing, our full Oyster Perpetual buying guide walks through the references.

If you want a watch that could be worth more later, look at the colors Rolex stopped making. Turquoise, coral red, and yellow all sell far above retail, and none of them are coming back. Pistachio is the best of the colors still in production. Pick the dial that matches what you want from the watch and you will not want to sell it a year later.

Look at the color in daylight and indoors, because these dials change a lot with the light and photos almost never show it. On any used watch, check that the glowing markers all match in color and age, because a mismatch usually means parts have been changed. If you want help picking, message us.
