If you’re after a watch that looks like it belongs on the wrist of someone who just stepped out of a Lamborghini Huracán, the Roger Dubuis DBEX1006 is exactly the one you’re eyeing. With its white mineral composite case, vivid green, red, and yellow accents, and a movement built like a racing car engine, this watch doesn’t just take inspiration from the track, it brings that energy to your wrist.

Limited to just 88 pieces, the Excalibur Spider Monobalancier Huracán is a machine in its own right. Developed in partnership with Lamborghini Squadra Corse, it fuses performance with presence at every angle. So far, no other watch has fused design and mechanics quite like this.

Let’s take a closer look at how this model came to life and why it holds a unique spot in the Roger Dubuis lineup.

How the Roger Dubuis x Lamborghini Partnership Was Born

Built through a partnership with Lamborghini Squadra Corse that began in 2017, the Roger Dubuis DBEX1006 was made to capture the design and performance of a Lamborghini in the form of a high-powered wristwatch.

The Excalibur Spider Huracán series brings in Lamborghini-inspired design at every level. The use of angular shapes, layered components, and skeletonized views creates the feeling of looking into a high-performance machine. From the rotor that mimics motion like a race wheel to the sharp, geometric structures inside the dial, the connection to the Huracán GT3 EVO becomes clear the more you look at it.

The DBEX1006 was introduced in June 2022 to mark Roger Dubuis’s role as official timing partner of the Goodwood Festival of Speed. This 45mm watch is limited to 88 pieces, pairing a white Mineral Composite Fibre (MCF) case with green, red, and yellow racing livery, colors borrowed straight from Lamborghini’s GT3 EVO2 design.

Design-wise, the watch wasn’t just painted in racing colors. The engine‑style skeleton structure mimics the layout of a Huracán’s engine bay and suspension struts. The rotor looks and spins like a car wheel, and a crown modeled after a racing wheel nut emphasizes the link.

As we move forward, let’s look at the materials and construction of the DBEX1006 that make this watch feel like a supercar for your wrist.

What Makes the DBEX1006 Case Lightweight Yet Strong

Measuring 45 mm across, the DBEX1006 uses white MCFas its case material. It’s about 13% lighter than carbon fiber and offers excellent durability while keeping the overall weight of the watch low. A titanium container holds the movement inside, and green rubber inlays are integrated into the case for contrast and structure.

Up front, the white MCF bezel features red lacquered markings and is protected by a sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating for enhanced clarity. Flipping it over reveals a titanium open caseback, also topped with sapphire crystal, offering a view of the movement along with the metallized Excalibur Huracán logo printed across the glass.

For the crown, Roger Dubuis went with titanium once again, adding a yellow lacquered ring to echo the Lamborghini racing aesthetic. Paired with the case is a white rubber strap that features a green perforated calf leather inlay. Inside the perforations, red detailing peeks through, bringing out a layered, race-inspired look. The strap connects using the brand’s Quick Release System (QRS), which makes swaps fast and tool-free.

Securing the fit is a titanium triple folding clasp, also compatible with the QRS for quick changes. Water resistance is rated at 5 bar, or 50 meters, making it suitable for daily wear and splash exposure without worry.

Now that we’ve covered the outer shell, let’s look inside to see how the dial reflects the high-speed inspiration behind this model.

Inside the Openworked Dial of the Excalibur Huracán Watch

The Excalibur Spider Monobalancier Huracán dial wears its racing heritage proudly. A full skeleton layout reveals the RD630 movement at work and opens the dial to engine-inspired elements. You can see areas shaped like strut-bar bridges and a surround that echoes a hexagonal dashboard pattern found in the Huracán GT3 EVO2.

Around the outer edge, a green ring displays white minute markers and printed text, surrounding a dial structure built primarily from titanium. Near the 6 o’clock position, look closely and you’ll see “60 HOUR” printed on the left ring and “TWIN BARREL” on the right, both subtle yet purposeful details that reflect what’s inside. These callouts highlight its 60-hour power reserve and dual-barrel energy system, details that connect the performance of the movement to the visual layout of the dial.

Just inside that, a white inner ring is set with rhodium-plated hour markers shaped like screws, each filled with bright yellow Super-LumiNova to stay readable in low light. The tips of the hour and minute hands are made of 750/1000 18k white gold and outlined in yellow, also filled with the same luminous material. A yellow lacquered central seconds hand recalls the needle movement of a racing tachometer.

A slim date display sits at 6 o’clock, integrated within the skeleton layout so it does not interrupt the overall design.

Every part of this dial reflects the high-speed engineering mindset behind the design. Next, we’ll take a closer look at the movement that brings it all to life.

How the Movement Mirrors a Lamborghini V10 Engine

At the core of the DBEX1006 sits the automatic RD630 calibre, created specifically for the partnership with Lamborghini Squadra Corse. Powered by twin barrels, it delivers a 60-hour power reserve, giving you over two days of run time on a full wind.

This movement runs at 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz) and is made up of 233 components and 29 jewels. The balance wheel is tilted at 12 degrees, which helps with both stability and visual appeal. A skeleton rotor, shaped like a Lamborghini wheel rim, rotates smoothly with wrist movement, reinforcing the watch’s connection to motorsport.

Among its functional features, the movement includes a date mechanism that’s tucked neatly into the skeleton structure designed to keep the layout clean while adding everyday usability.

Now that we’ve covered what’s ticking inside, let’s move on to how the DBEX1006 actually feels when it’s on the wrist.

The Real Feel: What It’s Like to Wear the DBEX1006

With a 45mm case, this watch commands attention, but thanks to its lightweight MCF and titanium construction, it doesn’t feel bulky or heavy. The curved lugs and slim case profile allow it to sit flat and snug even on medium-sized wrists.

The perforated strap molds easily to the wrist, and the triple-folding titanium clasp offers a secure and balanced closure. The QRS makes changing straps easy for those who like to switch up the look without fuss.

Even with its aggressive, race-inspired design, the watch feels really comfortable on the wrist. This is why it’s meant for the track, light enough that it won’t leave your wrist tired, even during high-speed laps or long drives.

To quickly compare all the technical details we’ve covered, here’s a full breakdown of the key specs.
