The Overseas Self-Winding is the three-hand, date model at the core of Vacheron Constantin’s Overseas line, a steel sports watch built around an integrated bracelet and a six-sided bezel drawn from the brand’s Maltese cross emblem. It is designed as a versatile daily watch, with a tool-free system that lets the wearer switch between a steel bracelet, a leather strap, and a rubber strap.
The 4520V was introduced at Watches and Wonders Geneva 2024 as a refresh of the third-generation Overseas, which had launched as the 4500V at SIHH 2016. It replaces the 4500V rather than sitting alongside it.
The update keeps the third-generation platform and reworks the details: a slightly thinner case, a bracelet and straps that taper more sharply, a revised quick-change mechanism, a smaller date aperture, and minor changes to the movement decoration. The blue dial (suffix B128) is one of three steel dial options, alongside black and silver.
Within the collection this reference is a regular-production, non-limited model, positioned below the Overseas chronograph, dual time, and higher complications.

The dial is blue with a sunburst satin finish under lacquer, so the colour shifts between a lighter blue at the centre and a darker tone toward the edge. A printed minute and seconds track runs on the inner flange, with five-minute numerals around the perimeter.

Hour markers are applied 18K gold batons filled with blue Super-LumiNova. The hour and minute hands are 18K gold in a faceted baton form, also filled with blue Super-LumiNova, and a thin central seconds hand runs over the dial.
The date sits in a framed aperture at 3 o’clock against a light date disc. On this generation the aperture is slightly smaller than on the 4500V.
Printed dial text reads VACHERON CONSTANTIN with GENEVE beneath it below the 12, under an applied Maltese cross at 12. SWISS MADE is printed at the base of the dial flange.
The case is round stainless steel, 41 mm in diameter and 10.69 mm thick, with a mix of brushed and polished surfaces. The profile is slimmer than the previous generation, which measured closer to 11 mm.

The bezel is a fixed stainless steel ring shaped as a six-notch form derived from the Maltese cross. It carries no timing scale and is decorative rather than functional.
The front crystal is sapphire, and the caseback is a transparent sapphire display back that shows the movement. The crown is a screw-down type.
Water resistance is 150 metres (15 bar), which covers swimming and general water contact.
This reference is delivered on the integrated stainless steel bracelet, built from half Maltese cross links with polished and satin-finished surfaces. On this generation the bracelet and straps taper to 18 mm before the clasp, narrower than the 20 mm taper of the 4500V.

The bracelet closes with a triple folding steel clasp. The attachment to the case is integrated into the lug area rather than using conventional spring-bar lugs.
The reference uses a tool-free interchangeable system. Alongside the bracelet it ships with a blue grained calfskin leather strap and a blue rubber strap, each fitted with its own stainless steel folding clasp. On the 4520V the strap-change mechanism and the buckle attachment for the straps were revised, and the supplied leather is calfskin.
The watch runs on the in-house self-winding Caliber 5100. It measures 30.6 mm in diameter and 4.7 mm thick, is built from 172 parts with 37 jewels, beats at 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz), and holds a 60-hour power reserve.
The movement is certified with the Hallmark of Geneva (Poin├зon de Gen├иve), which covers both finishing and rate criteria. Winding is by a 22K gold oscillating weight decorated with a wind rose motif, visible through the sapphire caseback.
Functions are hours, minutes, central seconds, and date. The date is corrected through an intermediate crown position, and the time is set with the crown fully drawn out.
The case, bezel, and bracelet are stainless steel. The front crystal and the caseback are sapphire. The applied hour markers and the hands are 18K gold with blue Super-LumiNova. The winding rotor is 22K gold.
The two supplied straps are blue grained calfskin leather and blue rubber, each with a stainless steel clasp.
The overall material set is steel construction with gold dial furniture and rotor, and sapphire on both sides of the case.

Vacheron Constantin uses a double-box arrangement, with an outer protective box and an inner presentation case. The straps, certificate holder, and any removed links are part of a complete set for this reference, and their absence leaves the set incomplete.
The watch is covered by the Vacheron Constantin International Limited Warranty of 2 years from the date of purchase. This baseline period can be extended to a total of 8 years by registering the watch with Vacheron Constantin. Each watch is tied to a digital passport, a blockchain-based record that holds the watch’s identity and ownership information. A dated physical guarantee is completed by the retailer at the point of sale.

For a 2025-purchased example, the initial 2-year period runs into 2027, and the extended term reaches 2033 where registration was completed. A guarantee completed and dated by the selling retailer is the primary purchase document for a full set, and its presence and dating matter when the set is assessed.
At 41 mm across and 10.69 mm thick, the watch sits flatter than the outgoing 4500V, and the reduced case height and sharper bracelet taper make it more manageable on the wrist. The integrated bracelet follows the case closely, so the effective footprint is defined by the case rather than by long lugs.

The steel bracelet spreads weight across the wrist, while the rubber and leather options change the character and the on-wrist mass. The size suits medium to larger wrists, and the ability to swap to the rubber or leather strap widens the range of occasions it covers, from a bracelet-based daily watch to a dressed-down strap setup.
This reference exists in a single build: a 41 mm stainless steel case with the blue sunburst dial, powered by the Caliber 5100, and delivered on the steel bracelet with a blue calfskin leather strap and a blue rubber strap included.
