The Seamaster Diver 300M is Omega’s mainstream dive watch line, introduced in 1993 and built around a 300 metre case with a helium escape valve, a unidirectional timing bezel and a screw-in crown. Reference 212.30.41.20.01.003 is the 41 mm steel version powered by the Co-Axial calibre 2500.
Omega introduced this reference in 2012. It replaced the aluminium bezel 212.30.41.20.01.002 in the 41 mm steel line and brought a ceramic bezel insert to the model for the first time, paired with a plain black lacquered dial in place of the wave pattern the collection had carried since 1993.
The reference sat in the regular production Seamaster range rather than the limited or commemorative side of the collection. It was the mid-tier steel diver in Omega’s line-up during its run, positioned below the Planet Ocean 600M and the Ploprof.
It remained in the catalogue until the Seamaster Diver 300M was fully redesigned for its 25th anniversary at Baselworld 2018, when the 42 mm 210 series with the Master Chronometer calibre 8800 took its place.

The dial is black with a glossy lacquered finish and no wave pattern, which is what separates this generation visually from both the references before it and the ceramic wave dials that followed. The date sits at 3 o’clock in a framed rectangular window.

Hour markers are applied and luminous. Round dots fill most positions, with a double baton at 12, a single baton at 6, a rectangular marker at 9 and a smaller rectangular marker beside the date at 3. A printed minute track with dots runs around the outer edge of the dial.
The hour and minute hands are skeletonised and polished, with luminous fill inside the outlines, and the hour hand carries an arrow tip. The central seconds hand is red with a luminous circle set near its tip.
Printed dial text reads OMEGA under the logo at 12, then Seamaster in red script above PROFESSIONAL. Below the centre it reads CO-AXIAL, CHRONOMETER, and 300m / 1000ft, with SWISS MADE at 6 o’clock.
The case is round, 41 mm across, 13.07 mm thick and 47.40 mm lug to lug, in stainless steel. The profile uses the twisted lug shape the Diver 300M has carried since the 1990s, with brushed flanks and polished transitions into the crown guards.

The crystal is domed sapphire with anti-reflective treatment on both sides. There is no date magnifier. The main crown is a screw-in type marked with the Omega logo and sits between protective guards. A second crown at 10 o’clock operates the manual helium escape valve.
The caseback is solid and screws in, stamped with the Seamaster hippocampus medallion over an engraved wave pattern. Water resistance is 300 metres, or 30 bar.
The bezel is unidirectional with a black ceramic insert carrying a 60 minute dive scale in white, numerals at ten minute intervals, and a luminous pip inside the triangle at 12. The edge is notched for grip. In use the diver aligns the triangle with the minute hand at the start of a dive and reads elapsed time directly off the scale, and because rotation is one way only, an accidental knock can only shorten the indicated remaining time.
The reference ships on the five link stainless steel bracelet used across the 41 mm Diver 300M generation, with brushed outer links and polished elements between them. Lug width is 20 mm.

The clasp is a folding type with pushers and an integrated diver’s extension, so the bracelet can be lengthened to fit over a wetsuit sleeve without removing links. Sizing is by screwed links in the Omega system, using separate cap screws and a retaining pin rather than a single through pin.
This reference was sold on the steel bracelet only. The blue dial equivalent under 212.30.41.20.03.001 carries the same bracelet, and the 36.25 mm versions of the ceramic bezel Diver 300M use a narrower bracelet that does not interchange.
The movement is the Omega calibre 2500, an automatic based on the ETA 2892-A2 and fitted with the Co-Axial escapement. It is 25.60 mm across, runs 27 jewels, and is finished in rhodium plating.
Frequency is 25,200 vibrations per hour, or 3.5 Hz. Power reserve is 48 hours. The movement is chronometer certified to ISO 3159, which sets a tolerance of minus 4 to plus 6 seconds per day.
Functions are hours, minutes, central seconds and date. Winding is bidirectional through the rotor and by hand at the crown.
To set the watch, unscrew the crown until it releases. The first click quicksets the date forward. The second click stops the seconds and sets the time. Screw the crown fully back down before the watch goes near water. The helium escape valve at 10 o’clock is manual and is only opened during decompression after saturation diving.
The case, bezel body, bracelet and clasp are 316L stainless steel, the grade Omega uses across its steel watches. It resists corrosion in salt water and takes both a brushed and a polished finish cleanly.
The bezel insert is ceramic, which is harder and far more scratch resistant than the anodised aluminium insert used on the reference this one replaced, and it holds its colour under sunlight.
The crystal is synthetic sapphire, graded 9 on the Mohs scale, domed and treated with anti-reflective coating on both faces.
The dial is lacquered black with applied metal markers, and the markers and hands carry a luminous compound.
Overall the material set is a hard wearing one built for water and daily use, with the ceramic insert as the single upgrade over the previous generation.
A full set for this reference is normally made up of the following.

The paperwork is the part of the set that carries the commercial weight. Whichever format the example uses, the document has to carry the reference and the serial number and be completed by the selling retailer for the set to count as original.

Omega changed the Seamaster presentation box in 2015, part way through this reference’s production. That places the transition in the middle of the run, so an early example and a late example of the same reference correctly carry different boxes, and both are era correct for their own date.
A wooden box on a 2012 or 2013 watch, or a red leather box on a 2017 example, should be checked against the paperwork date before the set is described as original. An Omega service box is a replacement, not a retail box, and a set built around one is not a full original set.
Watches sold under this reference before 1 July 2018 carried Omega’s standard two year international warranty. The calibre 2500 is chronometer certified but not Master Chronometer certified, so the four year term Omega applied to its METAS certified pieces from 2015 did not cover this reference.
The document format changed during the run. Early pieces sold between 2012 and 2014 came with a paper warranty booklet. From 2014 to the end of the run Omega used the warranty card and pictogram card system, with the cards completed and stamped by the authorised retailer at the point of sale and kept in the card wallet. Omega had not moved to a digital or chip embedded format during this period.

The two year period has now expired on every example sold under this reference, and the five year period has expired on any example that qualified for the 2018 extension. Warranty status is therefore no longer a factor here, and the paperwork matters as documentation rather than as coverage.
Omega’s post service warranty runs from the date of service, so a recently serviced example can carry live Omega coverage even though the factory warranty lapsed years ago. Service papers sit alongside the original document and do not replace it in a full set.
A stamped and dated document with the reference and serial number filled in is the primary authenticity record for a set. A blank card, a booklet or card with a serial that does not match the case, or a photocopy carries no documentary value.
Omega’s own product page for the reference is retained but marked as no longer available.
At 41 mm across and 47.40 mm lug to lug, the case is shorter end to end than the 42 mm generation that replaced it, and the twisted lugs curve down early. It wears closer to its stated diameter than most modern divers of the same size.

The 13.07 mm thickness is average for a 300 metre diver and the domed crystal accounts for part of it. The case clears a shirt cuff without much effort.
The five link bracelet is articulated in short segments, which helps it sit flat on smaller wrists, and the folding clasp has a diver’s extension for use over a suit. Total weight on the bracelet is around 179 grams.
The size range it suits runs from roughly 6.5 to 8 inches. It works as a daily watch, a swimming and diving watch, and reads as a sports watch under a jacket rather than a dress piece.
This reference exists in one configuration. Every example is a 41 mm stainless steel case with a black ceramic bezel insert, a black lacquered dial without the wave pattern, applied dot and baton markers, skeletonised hands, a red central seconds hand, the Co-Axial calibre 2500, and the five link steel bracelet with a folding clasp and diver’s extension. The variation buyers encounter between examples is in packaging and paperwork rather than in the watch itself, and that is covered in the Box and Papers section.
