The Sky-Dweller is Rolex’s annual calendar with a dual time zone, and the most complicated watch in the brand’s regular production. It combines a central time display, a second time zone shown on an off-centre 24-hour disc, and the Saros annual calendar that tracks the date across 30 and 31 day months with a single manual adjustment each year on 1 March. The main change over the earlier reference is the movement, updated to calibre 9002, alongside a revised dial with rectangular index hour markers, longer hands, a Chromalight display, and a new concealed bracelet attachment beneath the bezel.
The Sky-Dweller line launched in 2012 as the first new Rolex model family in a generation. Within the collection, the 336934 sits as the steel-and-white-gold entry point, below the Yellow Rolesor and solid gold versions. This specific model, m336934-0005, carries the bright blue dial on the three-piece link Oyster bracelet.
The dial is bright blue with a sunray finish. The case is the 42 mm Oyster in White Rolesor, an Oystersteel middle case with an 18 ct white gold bezel. Construction is a monobloc middle case with a screw-down case back and a screw-down Twinlock winding crown. Surface finishing combines polished bezel-side surfaces and lug chamfers with brushed lug tops.
A scratch-resistant sapphire crystal carries a Cyclops lens over the date. Water resistance is 100 metres (330 feet). The bezel is fluted 18 ct white gold and is bidirectional rotatable, functioning as the Rolex Ring Command interface rather than as a timing or GMT scale.
To operate the calendar and time zone functions, the wearer unscrews the crown and rotates the bezel to select the setting (local time and date, reference time, or month), then adjusts it with the crown. The bezel therefore drives the watch’s complications, and the Oyster bracelet attaches through a concealed system beneath the bezel for visual continuity between case and bracelet.
Reference m336934-0005 is fitted on the Oyster bracelet, a three-piece solid-link design in Oystersteel. The movement is the calibre 9002, a self-winding mechanical movement manufactured by Rolex. It runs at 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz) with an approximate 72-hour power reserve, and winds bidirectionally through a Perpetual rotor. The oscillator uses a paramagnetic blue Parachrom hairspring, and the movement is fitted with high-performance Paraflex shock absorbers and the Chronergy escapement.

The case middle and bracelet are Oystersteel, Rolex’s corrosion-resistant steel from the 904L family. The bezel is 18 ct white gold, and the applied hour markers and hands are also 18 ct white gold. The crystal is synthetic sapphire with a Cyclops date magnifier.

Rolex began rolling out the redesigned packaging around late 2024. Authorised dealers ran down existing stock independently, so a watch sold around the transition can legitimately carry either packaging generation, and that alone does not indicate a mismatched set.

At original sale, this reference carries the Rolex international guarantee of five years, the brand-wide standard for purchases since July 2015.
