The 126000 reference was introduced in 2020, replacing the earlier 116000 generation. It brought the current calibre 3230 movement, a revised Oystersteel case with slimmer lugs, and a range of lacquer dial colours that widened the collection’s appeal.
This example carries the beige matt lacquer dial, one of three pastel dials (lavender, beige, and pistachio) unveiled for the Oyster Perpetual line at Watches and Wonders Geneva 2025. The beige dial was shown by Rolex on the Oyster Perpetual 36. The matt finish marked a change in direction for the reference, moving away from the glossy lacquer surfaces used since 2020.
Within the Rolex lineup the Oyster Perpetual 36 sits at the entry point of the Oyster range, below the Datejust and the professional models. It is a regular-production, unisex-sized watch, not a limited edition.

The dial is beige with a matt lacquer surface. This finish is applied through a multi-layer lacquering process and reads as a soft, low-reflectivity face rather than the bright gloss used on the 2020 generation dials. The base is a single colour across the whole dial.
Hour markers are applied baton indexes, with a filled Rolex coronet in place of a marker at 12 o’clock. The markers and hands carry Chromalight luminescent material, which displays blue in low light. The hands are a baton style matched to the markers, and the centre seconds hand runs the full radius of the dial.
The printed dial text is arranged in the standard Oyster Perpetual layout: ROLEX with the coronet below 12 o’clock, then OYSTER PERPETUAL, with SUPERLATIVE CHRONOMETER OFFICIALLY CERTIFIED above 6 o’clock and SWISS MADE at the base of the dial. There is no date window and no cyclops, so the dial face is uninterrupted.
The case is a round 36 mm Oystersteel Oyster case, built around a monobloc middle case with a screw-down case back and a screw-down winding crown. The case sides are polished and the top surfaces brushed, giving the profile a clear contrast between finishes.
The crystal is a domed scratch-resistant sapphire. Because the watch has no date, there is no Cyclops magnifier. The winding crown uses the Twinlock double waterproofness system and screws down against the case, and the case is waterproof to 100 metres (330 feet).
The case back is solid and screw-down. The bezel is a smooth domed bezel in Oystersteel, fixed and non-rotating, with no scale or timing function. Its role is decorative and structural rather than a working complication.
The bracelet is an Oyster bracelet in Oystersteel, built from broad, flat three-piece solid links. The centre links and outer links carry a brushed finish across the top surfaces. It is the standard bracelet for this reference.
The clasp is a folding Oysterclasp. It is fitted with the Easylink comfort extension, a fold-out link that lengthens the bracelet by approximately 5 mm without tools, allowing small on-the-wrist adjustments for temperature or fit changes.
The lug width is 20 mm, and the bracelet tapers toward the clasp. This reference ships on the Oyster bracelet only; there is no strap or alternate bracelet configuration for the 126000.
The movement is the Rolex calibre 3230, a self-winding mechanical movement developed and manufactured in-house by Rolex and introduced in 2020. It is an automatic movement winding bidirectionally through a Perpetual rotor.
Key specifications: 31 jewels, a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz), and a power reserve of approximately 70 hours. Functions are centre hours, minutes, and seconds, with a stop-seconds (hacking) function for precise time setting.
The calibre 3230 uses the patented Chronergy escapement, a paramagnetic nickel-phosphorus escapement designed for energy efficiency. It runs a blue Parachrom hairspring with a Rolex overcoil, a variable-inertia balance regulated by gold Microstella nuts, and high-performance Paraflex shock absorbers.
The movement is a Superlative Chronometer, certified by COSC and then tested again by Rolex after casing to a rate of -2/+2 seconds per day. Operation is limited to winding and setting the time: pull the crown to the setting position, set the hands, and screw the crown back down against the case.
Case, bezel, and bracelet are Oystersteel, Rolex’s name for its 904L-family stainless steel, chosen for corrosion resistance and its finish once polished. The crystal is synthetic sapphire, scratch-resistant and domed.
The applied hour markers and hands are metal, filled or coated with Chromalight luminescent material that displays blue in the dark. The dial itself is finished in matt beige lacquer. The clasp and Easylink extension are Oystersteel, matching the bracelet.

The Gen 2 rollout may vary by country, retailer, and existing stock, so April 2026 should not be treated as a universal hard cutoff, and transitional sets are possible around that point.
The 126000 sold new in 2025 carried Rolex’s 5-year international guarantee, which has applied to Rolex watches purchased since July 2015. Coverage is documented on the green-and-black glossy plastic guarantee card introduced in 2020, which displays the model, serial number, and purchase date, without the older handwritten purchaser and retailer information. The card is properly activated and dated by an Official Rolex Retailer at the point of sale and is the primary authenticity document for the full set.
