The Rolex Day-Date of the 1800-generation was available in a wide number of configurations. One of the more unusual options was the 1806, which featured a case with an engraved linen-like patern throughout. The example pictured here was manufactured around 1963 and features a period-correct ‘Swiss-only’ ‘Doorstop’ dial. Furthermore it is fitted with the matching brick bracelet – a rather rare sight. It was part of a 2013 Christie’s sale.
