The Datejust 41 is the 41 mm version of Rolex’s date-display watch, built for everyday wear across dress and casual settings. Reference 126300 is the full-Oystersteel version fitted with a smooth, polished domed bezel, positioned as the entry point into the Datejust 41 range. This specific configuration pairs the slate (grey) sunray dial and applied baton hour markers with the five-piece Jubilee bracelet.
Rolex introduced the Datejust 41 collection at Baselworld 2016, initially in Rolesor (steel and gold) versions. The full stainless steel reference 126300 and the white Rolesor 126334 were added the following year at Baselworld 2017. The 126300 replaced the earlier Datejust II reference 116300, carrying over the 41 mm case size in a slimmer, more refined profile with thinner lugs.
The reference also introduced the Caliber 3235 to the steel Datejust 41, moving from the previous-generation 3135/3136 family. It sits in the regular production catalogue rather than as a limited or commemorative model, and remains a current reference.

The dial is Rolex’s slate colour, a mid-to-dark grey produced with a sunray finish. The finish is created by brushing fine grooves that radiate from the centre of the dial, after which the colour is applied by Physical Vapour Deposition or electroplating and sealed with a light coat of varnish. The result shifts between grey and charcoal as light moves across the surface.

Hour markers are applied baton indices in 18 ct white gold, filled with Chromalight luminescent material, with the marker at the 3 o’clock position replaced by the date aperture. The hour and minute hands are baton-style with matching Chromalight fill, and a central seconds hand runs over the dial. The Chromalight display emits a long-lasting blue glow in low light.
The date sits at 3 o’clock beneath the Cyclops lens. Printed dial text reads ROLEX with the crown at 12 o’clock, OYSTER PERPETUAL DATEJUST beneath it, and SUPERLATIVE CHRONOMETER OFFICIALLY CERTIFIED above 6 o’clock, with a minute track around the dial edge.
The Oyster case measures 41 mm and is built as a monobloc middle case in Oystersteel, with a screw-down case back and screw-down winding crown. The case profile is slimmer than the Datejust II it replaced. Lug width is 21 mm.

The bezel is smooth and polished, made from Oystersteel to match the case. It is fixed and decorative, with no timing or reading function, which gives the reference a cleaner, more understated look than the fluted-bezel Datejust references.
The crown uses the Twinlock double waterproofness system and screws down against the case. The crystal is scratch-resistant sapphire with a Cyclops lens over the date, and the watch is waterproof to 100 metres (330 feet).
This reference carries the Jubilee bracelet, a five-piece link design in Oystersteel first made for the Datejust in 1945, under bracelet reference 62610. The centre links are polished and the outer links brushed, giving the bracelet a supple drape and a dressier character than the flat three-link Oyster.

The bracelet closes with a folding Oysterclasp fitted with the Easylink 5 mm comfort extension link, which lets the wearer lengthen the bracelet by approximately 5 mm without tools. The Jubilee ships with around 22 links, of which roughly nine are removable for sizing.
The 126300 is also offered on the three-link Oyster bracelet under a separate bracelet reference (72610). This example is the Jubilee configuration.
The watch runs on Caliber 3235, a self-winding mechanical movement made in-house by Rolex. It holds 31 jewels, beats at 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz), and delivers an approximately 70-hour power reserve. The movement is built from 201 components and is covered by 14 patents.
The 3235 uses the Chronergy escapement in nickel-phosphorus, which is energy-efficient and unaffected by magnetic fields, together with a paramagnetic blue Parachrom hairspring and Rolex overcoil, high-performance Paraflex shock absorbers, and a variable-inertia balance regulated by four gold Microstella nuts on a traversing balance bridge. Winding is bidirectional through a Perpetual rotor.
It is certified as a Superlative Chronometer, which combines official COSC chronometer certification with Rolex’s own testing after casing to a rating of -2/+2 seconds per day. Functions are centre hours, minutes and seconds, plus an instantaneous date with rapid setting and a stop-seconds function for precise time setting.
To set the watch, unscrew the crown to release it. In the first position the crown winds the movement by turning clockwise; pulled to the intermediate position it rapid-sets the date; pulled fully out it stops the seconds hand for exact time setting. After setting, push the crown back and screw it down to restore waterproofness.
The case, bezel, and bracelet are Oystersteel, a 904L-family stainless steel Rolex uses for its steel watches for its corrosion resistance and finish. The crystal is sapphire with a Cyclops lens over the date.
The applied hour markers and the hands are 18 ct white gold, which resists tarnishing and adds depth to the dial without the visual weight of a two-tone build. The bracelet clasp is Oystersteel, and the luminescent material on the markers and hands is Chromalight, which emits a blue glow.
Overall the watch is an all-steel build with white gold dial furniture and a sapphire crystal: durable and corrosion-resistant, with the precious-metal content limited to the dial elements.

A 2025-dated example falls in the Gen 3 packaging generation. Because rollout timing varies by market and authorised retailers may deliver watches from existing inventory, a 2025 example carrying late Gen 2 packaging is a transition-period overlap rather than a mismatched set.
A 126300 sold in 2025 carried Rolex’s five-year international warranty, which has been the standard coverage since July 2015. The guarantee is a plastic, credit-card-style card printed with the watch’s serial and model numbers, registered electronically by the official retailer at the point of sale. Coverage is international and applies to the Superlative Chronometer certification of the watch.

A 2025-dated example is era-correct with the Gen 2 warranty card and electronic registration. The five-year coverage runs from the point-of-sale registration, so a 2025 card remains within the warranty window for several years. A card registered and matched to the watch’s serial is the primary authenticity document for a full set, and a blank or photocopied card is a red flag.
At 41 mm the case gives the Datejust a fuller presence than the classic 36 mm, while the slimmer Datejust 41 profile keeps it more restrained than the older Datejust II. It suits medium to larger wrists and works as an everyday watch that still reads as dress-appropriate.

The Jubilee bracelet, with its five-piece links, drapes closely to the wrist and wears softer and more formally than the Oyster. The Easylink extension adds about 5 mm of on-the-fly adjustment, which helps as the wrist changes size through the day. The smooth bezel and slate dial keep the watch visually quiet, pushing it toward the understated end of the Datejust range.
Across reference 126300 the constants are the 41 mm Oystersteel Oyster case, the smooth Oystersteel bezel, and the Caliber 3235 movement. Variation occurs in the dial and the bracelet.
