The Datejust 36 reference 126234 is the current-generation White Rolesor Datejust, combining an Oystersteel case with an 18 ct white gold fluted bezel. It belongs to the Datejust line that Rolex launched in 1945 as the first self-winding waterproof chronometer wristwatch with a date window.
Rolex introduced the new-generation Datejust 36 with the caliber 3235 at Baselworld 2018, initially in Yellow and Everose Rolesor. The White Rolesor reference 126234 followed at Baselworld 2019, replacing the outgoing 116234 and bringing the 36 mm case in line with the redesigned case profile and 70-hour movement of the Datejust 41.
This configuration, catalog suffix 126234-0021, pairs a sunray-finished aubergine dial with applied Roman numerals, diamond-set numerals at 6 and 9 o’clock, and the five-link Jubilee bracelet. It sits in the regular production Datejust catalog, positioned between the all-steel 126200 and the full-gold Datejust models.
2026 NEW UNWORN Rolex Datejust Purple Dial Aubergine Diamond 6-9 Roman Numerals 18K White Gold Fluted Bezel Jubilee Bracelet Stainless Steel 36mm COMPLETE SET 126234-0021
With its aubergine diamond-set dial, white gold bezel, and Jubilee bracelet, the Datejust 36 makes Rolex’s classic design into a richer, more…
The dial is aubergine, a deep purple, with a sunray brushed finish that shifts in tone under direct light. The hour markers are applied Roman numerals in 18 ct white gold, and the numerals at 6 and 9 o’clock are set with a total of 24 diamonds.

The hands are 18 ct white gold in the Datejust style: faceted baton hour and minute hands with a slim center seconds hand. A fine printed minute and seconds track runs around the dial perimeter, and the date sits in a window at 3 o’clock beneath the Cyclops lens.
The dial is signed ROLEX, OYSTER PERPETUAL, and DATEJUST below the coronet at 12 o’clock, with SUPERLATIVE CHRONOMETER OFFICIALLY CERTIFIED above 6 o’clock and SWISS MADE flanking a coronet at the bottom edge. The rehaut is engraved with repeating ROLEX lettering and carries the serial number at 6 o’clock.
The case is the 36 mm Oyster case in Oystersteel with a monobloc middle case, polished on its flanks and lug tops. The screw-down caseback is solid and machine-finished, and the winding crown screws down against the case with the Twinlock double waterproofness system. Water resistance is 100 metres.

The crystal is scratch-resistant sapphire with a Cyclops lens over the date at 3 o’clock, magnifying the date display for legibility. The crown carries the Rolex coronet and operates the winding, date quickset, and time-setting positions.
The bezel is fixed and fluted, made in solid 18 ct white gold. The fluting is decorative on the modern Datejust: it originated as a functional feature for screwing the bezel onto early Oyster cases and remains as a design signature. The white gold bezel is the element that makes this reference White Rolesor rather than an all-steel watch.
This reference suffix comes on the Jubilee bracelet, reference 62800, a five-piece link bracelet in Oystersteel that Rolex designed for the original Datejust in 1945. The three narrow center links are polished and the outer links are satin-brushed with polished edges. Lug width is 20 mm.

The clasp is a folding Oysterclasp with the Easylink comfort extension link, which lengthens or shortens the bracelet by approximately 5 mm without tools. The clasp cover is brushed and carries the Rolex coronet.
The reference is also sold on the three-piece Oyster bracelet under separate catalog suffixes, with the same Oysterclasp and Easylink system. The aubergine diamond Roman dial has been offered in both bracelet configurations; this page covers the Jubilee version.
The watch runs the Rolex caliber 3235, an in-house self-winding movement introduced across the Datejust line in this case generation. It carries 31 jewels, beats at 28,800 vph (4 Hz), and holds an approximately 70-hour power reserve.
The 3235 uses the Chronergy escapement in nickel-phosphorus, a paramagnetic blue Parachrom hairspring, and Paraflex shock absorbers. Winding is bidirectional via the Perpetual rotor. The movement is certified as a Superlative Chronometer, combining COSC certification with Rolex testing after casing to a rated precision of -2/+2 seconds per day.
Functions are center hour, minute, and seconds hands, an instantaneous date with rapid setting, and stop-seconds for precise time setting. To set the date, unscrew the crown, pull it to the first position, and turn it to advance the date; the second position sets the time and stops the seconds hand.
The case and bracelet are Oystersteel, the corrosion-resistant steel Rolex uses across the Oyster collection, polished on the case and mixed brushed and polished on the Jubilee bracelet. The bezel is solid 18 ct white gold, which is the defining material element of the White Rolesor combination.
The crystal is scratch-resistant sapphire with the Cyclops lens over the date. The dial furniture, both the Roman numeral markers and the hands, is 18 ct white gold, and the numerals at 6 and 9 o’clock carry 24 set diamonds. The clasp is Oystersteel.
The material character is a steel watch elevated by precious metal at the two points closest to the eye: the bezel and the dial furniture, with diamonds limited to two numerals.

Distribution of the Gen 2 box overlapped with remaining Gen 1 inventory, so the warranty sale date is more useful than the watch’s serial for determining the expected box. On a full-set listing, the box generation should be judged against the date on the guarantee card rather than the production year of the head.
Every 126234 sold new carries the Rolex international five-year guarantee, which has applied brand-wide to purchases from July 2015 onward. The guarantee is issued by Rolex, completed and dated by the official retailer at the time of purchase, and registered with Rolex. A watch sold in 2026 is documented by either the simplified green guarantee card in use since mid-2020 or, from approximately April 2026, the revised card with a darker woodgrain-style green appearance, depending on delivery month.

The warranty term is unchanged across all three card generations for this reference: five years, international, valid only when completed and dated by an official retailer at purchase. Because the reference entered the catalog in 2019, every example carries the five-year term, and examples sold from August 2021 onward remain inside their original warranty as of August 2026. The completed, dated guarantee card is the primary authenticity document for a full set: the card generation should match the sale date, and a blank or undated card does not validate the guarantee.
The reference remains in the Rolex catalog, and the aubergine diamond Roman dial configuration is listed on the official Rolex site under suffix 126234-0021.
At 36 mm with 20 mm lugs, the Datejust 36 sits in the middle of the classic dress-watch size range and wears as a true unisex watch. The case profile of this generation is slightly slimmer through the lugs than the preceding 116234, and the fixed bezel keeps the dial opening generous for the case size.

The Jubilee bracelet is the more supple of the two bracelet options: its five narrow links drape closely around the wrist, and the Easylink extension gives a 5 mm adjustment for daily comfort. The watch slips under a shirt cuff without catching, which suits it to office and formal wear.
The aubergine dial with diamond-set numerals moves this configuration toward the dressier end of the Datejust range. It suits wearers who want a steel-cased daily watch with precious-metal and gem detail that reads clearly at conversation distance, on wrists from roughly 15 cm to 19 cm.
Two constants hold across every 126234: the 36 mm White Rolesor case, Oystersteel with a fluted 18 ct white gold bezel, and the caliber 3235. Configurations differ by dial and bracelet, each under its own catalog suffix.
