The Patek 5070, introduced at BaselWorld 1998, marked a few milestones for the Geneva-based brand. It was the first watch in regular production to have a diameter over 40mm and it was the first simple chronograph in nearly forty years – the last one prior was the 1463. This yellow gold version with black dial was the original 1998 release.
