The PAM01024 is a 44 mm stainless steel dive watch in Panerai’s Luminor Submersible line. It combines the Luminor cushion case and crown-protecting bridge with a unidirectional rotating bezel, a black dial, small seconds at 9 o’clock, and a date at 3 o’clock.
It was introduced in 2017 as the direct successor to the PAM00024, the long-running steel Luminor Submersible Automatic. The update replaced the OP III calibre of the PAM00024 with the OP XXX, a COSC-certified automatic calibre, and carried over the same overall layout with minor design revisions.
It was a regular-production reference, positioned as the steel, black-dial Luminor Submersible of its period.
Panerai Submersible 44mm Black Dial Stainless Steel COMPLETE SET MINT CONDITION PAM01024
This Swiss-made timepiece features a black dial with Arabic numerals. It has a brushed stainless steel bezel with a graduated scale and…
The dial is black. Large luminous Arabic numerals mark 12 and 6 o’clock, and round luminous dot markers mark the remaining hours, with the 3 o’clock position given over to the date window and the 9 o’clock position to the small seconds sub-dial.

The small seconds sub-dial at 9 o’clock carries luminous baton markers at the cardinal positions and printed dots between them, with a luminous seconds hand. The date is shown in a round aperture at 3 o’clock, white numerals on a black disc.
The hour and minute hands are sword-shaped and filled with luminous material. The dial text reads “LUMINOR SUBMERSIBLE” below 12, “PANERAI” and “Automatic” above 6, and “L SWISS MADE L” at the base.
The case is the Luminor cushion shape in stainless steel, 44 mm in diameter. Measured thickness is 15.5 to 15.6 mm and measured lug-to-lug is 54 mm. The crystal is sapphire.

The crown sits at 3 o’clock under the Luminor crown-protecting bridge, a hinged lever that presses the crown against its seal. The lever is lifted to free the crown before winding or setting. The caseback is solid stainless steel, and the case is rated water resistant to 300 m.
The bezel is stainless steel with a brushed finish and rotates in one direction only. It carries a 60-minute timing scale with a luminous reference pip at 12, recessed numerals at 15, 30, and 45, and individual minute graduations across the first 15 minutes. Aligning the pip with the minute hand at the start of a dive allows elapsed time to be read directly from the scale.
The PAM01024 is supplied on a black rubber strap, 24 mm wide at the lugs, fastened with a stainless steel tang buckle.

Full sets include a second strap in nylon with a hook-and-loop closure, and a tool for changing straps.
The movement is the Panerai OP XXX, an automatic calibre built on the ETA 7750 architecture with the chronograph mechanism omitted. That architecture is what places the small seconds at 9 o’clock and the date at 3 o’clock.
The OP XXX measures 13┬╝ lignes (30 mm), runs at 28,800 vph (4 Hz), carries 25 jewels, and has a power reserve of 50 hours. It is certified as a chronometer by the COSC (Contr├┤le Officiel Suisse des Chronom├иtres).
Functions are hours, minutes, small seconds, and date. To wind or set the watch, lift the lever of the crown-protecting bridge to release the crown, then wind or pull the crown out to set the date and time. Close the lever afterwards to restore the crown seal before entering water.
The case, bezel, crown, and crown-protecting bridge are stainless steel. The crystal is sapphire.
The hour markers, numerals, hands, and bezel pip use luminous material. The strap is rubber, and the tang buckle is stainless steel. The included secondary strap is nylon.
Overall, the PAM01024 is a steel-and-rubber tool watch with no precious-metal or ceramic components.

A service box or travel pouch accompanying an example is a replacement and does not form part of an original full set.
At the time of sale in 2017 and 2018, Panerai issued a two-year international limited warranty as standard. It was documented on a paper Panerai international warranty certificate, completed and dated by the authorised retailer, recording the reference number and the watch’s individual numbers.

As of October 2026, the original two-year warranty has expired on every PAM01024. Coverage under Pam.Guard depends on the purchase date and whether the watch was registered, and runs to a maximum of eight years from purchase.
The dated, retailer-stamped warranty certificate is the primary piece of documentation for a full set. Blank, undated, or photocopied certificates reduce the documentary value of the set.
At 44 mm across, 54 mm lug to lug, and around 15.5 mm thick, the PAM01024 wears as a large watch. The cushion case and the crown-protecting bridge add visual width on the right side, so it reads larger than a round 44 mm case.

The thickness and the rotating bezel give it a tall profile, and it does not fit under a shirt cuff. The 24 mm rubber strap spreads the weight across the wrist and suits water use.
It is best suited to medium-to-large wrists and to wearers who want a steel dive watch for casual and water use.
The PAM01024 was produced in a single configuration: a 44 mm stainless steel Luminor cushion case with a unidirectional steel bezel, a black dial with small seconds and date, the OP XXX automatic calibre, and a black rubber strap with a steel tang buckle.
