About this Watch

The Da Vinci Perpetual Calendar reference IW3750-34 has a polished Stainless Steel case and a Black dial.IWC introduced its perpetual calendar mechanism for wristwatches in 1985 in the Da Vinci reference 3570. It was a spectacular novelty at the time. Critically acclaimed and powered by its price that shook the industry, the module would grow out to be the most widely sold perpetual calendar mechanism – not only fitted to the Da Vinci collection, but in adapted form in IWC watches such as the Novecento, the GST, the Pilot’s Chronograph and also various models by JLC, including the Master Ultra Thin Perpetual. It would also serve as the base for the IWC’s Grande Complication and their masterpiece of the time, the spectacular Destriero Scafusia. The Da Vinci Perpetual 3750 has a case of 39 * 14.3mm, with hinged lugs. It was available in various metals and with a choice of dial colors, each of which in turn was made with markings in German, Italian, English and French (not always properly reflected in our pictures). Plexi glass was the default option, though at request the watch could be fitted with a sapphire crystal. From 1987 on it was available with a ceramic case in the form of the 3755 (with a sapphire crystal per default), whilst models with gem-set cases carry the reference 8153. A bracelet option was offered in the form of the reference 9252, or 9253 if the case was to be set with diamonds. Its successor, the 3758, was introduced in ca. 2005.The first versions used the caliber 7906(0) movement, which was updated to 79061 around 1988 and finally 79261 around 1995.
