The Seventies Chronograph Panorama Date is Glashütte Original’s retro-modern flyback chronograph, built around a TV-shaped stainless steel case that references the design language of the 1970s. It sits in the brand’s Vintage line alongside the Sixties collection, and pairs that period styling with a modern in-house automatic chronograph movement.
Reference 1-37-02-10-02-63 is the “Disco Blue” limited edition on a black rubber strap. It was introduced on 21 July 2022 as one of two colourways released together, “Disco Blue” (light blue) and “Vibing Orange”. Each colour was offered in two configurations, a black rubber strap or a stainless steel bracelet, and each of those configurations was produced as a numbered limited edition of 100 pieces.
The “Disco Blue” and “Vibing Orange” pair followed the earlier “Fab Green” edition and preceded the 2023 “Golden Bay” and “Ocean Breeze” colours, part of a run of brightly lacquered dial editions Glashütte Original produced on the Seventies Chronograph platform through the 2020s. Within the brand’s lineup this is a mid-range steel sports chronograph offered as a colour-led limited series rather than a standard-catalogue piece.
The dial is finished in “Disco Blue”, a light blue tone applied as a matt lacquer over an in-house produced dial blank. The finish is flat and velvety rather than glossy or sunburst, which keeps the bright colour muted and even across the face.
The layout is a four-register chronograph. A small seconds sub-dial sits at 9 o’clock with the power reserve indicator integrated inside it, a 30-minute counter sits at 3 o’clock, and a numeric 12-hour counter reads through an arched window below 12 o’clock. The oversized two-disc Panorama Date sits above 6 o’clock. A central chronograph seconds hand sweeps the full dial, its tail carrying a double-G counterweight.
Hour markers are applied, faceted and finished in black, each carrying a strip of Super-LumiNova. The hour and minute hands are black with luminous fill, and a printed minute and fractions-of-a-second track runs around the outer edge. Printed dial text reads “Glashütte Original”, “GLASHÜTTE I/SA” and “MADE IN GERMANY”.
The case is a TV-shaped stainless steel form, 40 x 40 mm, with rounded corners and a mix of brushed surfaces and polished accents. The profile is substantial for a square case at 14.1 mm thick, with the crown and chronograph pushers set into the right flank in line with the case band.
The front crystal is sapphire, and the caseback is a sapphire exhibition window secured by screws, giving a view of the movement. The crown is a screw-down type. Water resistance is rated to 100 m (10 bar).
The bezel is a fixed polished stainless steel frame that follows the rounded-square outline of the case. It is decorative and carries no scale or timing function.
This reference is fitted with a black rubber strap. The strap has a fitted end that integrates with the case, a moulded surface texture, and tapers toward the clasp.

The watch is powered by the Glashütte Original manufacture Calibre 37-02, an automatic integrated chronograph with a column wheel and flyback function. It runs at 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz), holds a 70-hour power reserve from a single barrel, and carries 65 jewels.
Functions are hours, minutes, small seconds, power reserve indication, Panorama Date, and a flyback chronograph with central seconds, a 30-minute counter and a numeric 12-hour counter. The flyback function allows the running chronograph to be reset and restarted with a single push of the lower pusher. Pulling the crown hacks the seconds for precise time setting.
The movement uses the traditional Saxon three-quarter plate and is regulated by a swan-neck fine adjustment with gold poising screws on the balance rim. It is finished in the Glashütte style with striped bridges, bevelled and polished edges and blued screws, and is wound by a skeletonised rotor carrying a 21-carat gold oscillation weight and the double-G logo.
To operate the chronograph, the top pusher starts and stops the central seconds and the counters, and the bottom pusher performs the flyback reset. The Panorama Date advances through the crown.
The case, bezel and clasp are stainless steel, with brushed and polished surfaces. The front crystal and the caseback window are sapphire.
The dial is produced in-house and finished in matt “Disco Blue” lacquer, with applied black faceted hour markers and Super-LumiNova filling on the markers and hands. The strap is rubber.

Glashütte Original used its standard house presentation packaging for this edition, so the reference had a single box configuration at retail rather than a mid-production box change. A generic or wrong-era box on a full-set example affects completeness, since the value of a full set rests partly on the original box, outer shell, guarantee card and edition documentation being present and matched.
At the time of sale in 2022, this watch carried Glashütte Original’s international guarantee of 24 months from the date of purchase. Coverage applied on presentation of the valid guarantee certificate and covered manufacturing defects. The certificate for this era is a physical guarantee card completed, stamped and dated at point of sale, supplied with a separate registration card and envelope.

Glashütte Original kept its standard new-watch guarantee at 24 months across this reference’s life, so there is no term-length change to track between earlier and later examples. The original 24-month guarantee has now expired on examples sold in 2022. For current listings, the primary authenticity document is the original stamped and dated guarantee card; a blank, undated or photocopied card is a red flag. A watch serviced by Glashütte Original may carry a separate service warranty document, which is distinct from the original point-of-sale guarantee.
The 40 x 40 mm footprint wears larger than a 40 mm round watch because the square case fills more of the wrist, while the rounded corners keep it from feeling boxy. At 14.1 mm thick it has clear presence and is not a slim dress piece.
The rubber strap and integrated fitted ends keep the watch close to the wrist and make it the more casual and sporty of the two strap options. It suits medium to larger wrists and works as a daily wear sports chronograph rather than an under-cuff dress watch, with the light blue lacquered dial giving it a summer, casual character.
