The ‘Big Case’ Chronomat was introduced in 1968-1969 as part of Breitling’s earliest offerings with the newly conceived Chronomatic caliber. The first ones were fitted with caliber 11; these were shortly thereafter discontinued in favor of caliber 12. Together with the 818 it is among the first Breitling models to feature the geared bezel.
