Limited to 150 pieces, the Overseas Chronograph “Everest” is one of the rarest modern sport watches from Vacheron Constantin. Inspired by the prototype Cory Richards wore during his 2019 Mount Everest expedition, it carries real adventure history in a Holy Trinity package. For the collector who wants something beyond the Royal Oak and Nautilus, this is the deeper cut.
Presents itself in mint condition with little to no signs of wear. An intricately grained blue-grey dial is the standout feature, with a sandblasted finish that catches light like brushed alpine ice. Features a bright orange chronograph seconds hand that adds sharp contrast and gives the watch its expedition character. A 22-karat gold rotor is engraved with Mount Everest, based on a photograph taken by Cory Richards.
Functions include hours, minutes, small seconds, date, and chronograph timing. The screw-down crown winds the watch when unscrewed, quick-sets the date in its first pulled position, and sets the time in its second. Top pusher at 2 o’clock starts and stops the chronograph, while the bottom pusher at 4 o’clock resets it to zero. Offers a 52-hour power reserve lasting roughly two days off the wrist, and handles water resistance to 150 meters for swimming and recreational diving.
Comes as a full set, double-boxed, including the watch pillow, book manual, additional blue textile strap, and Japanese-market warranty card.
Limited production, expedition DNA, and a titanium construction make this one of the most collectible Overseas Chronographs ever made. For the collector who already owns the easy answers, the “Everest” offers something rarer, tougher, and more interesting. It isn’t the loudest watch in the room, but among collectors who’ve moved past the obvious, the people who know, know.
