Retired when Rolex moved its Oyster Perpetual blue to a glossy lacquer finish, the sunray bright blue is now a closed chapter of the modern 36. Made for the collector who loves a clean, time-only Rolex and wants the metallic blue that can no longer be ordered new.
Presents itself in mint condition with little to no signs of wear. Set beneath sapphire, the sunray bright blue dial throws light outward from its center and shifts tone as the wrist turns. Crowned by a smooth, domed Oystersteel bezel, the polished curve catches a soft shine with every movement. Wrapped around the wrist, the Oyster braceletтАЩs broad, flat three-piece links close on an Oysterclasp with a 5mm Easylink comfort extension.
Functions include hours, minutes, and seconds. The screw-down Twinlock crown sits on the right side of the case, and once unscrewed to its first position, it winds the movement. Pulled out one notch further, the crown stops the seconds hand so the time can be set to the second. Screwed back down afterward, the crown keeps the watch waterproof to 100 meters. Inside runs the in-house caliber 3230, with approximately 70 hours of power reserve and accuracy of -2/+2 seconds a day.
