Everose is the only rose gold Rolex will not let anybody else pour, cast in their own foundry and laced with platinum so it never fades toward yellow. Ten diamonds, a fluted bezel and a President bracelet turn that alloy into something worn by a person who has stopped asking permission. Pink stopped being a quiet colour somewhere between Elle Woods and the summer the whole world went Barbie, and this is the version of it that outlives the trend.

Presents itself in mint condition with little to no signs of wear. Sunray brushing runs out of the centre of the rosé dial and lifts ten brilliant diamonds set in 18K gold, so the light moves across the face in a slow sweep instead of a flat glare. Fluted bezel is cut from solid Everose, and every ridge catches its own wink as the wrist turns. President bracelet closes it out with semi-circular three-piece links, brushed on the outside and high polished through the centre, disappearing into a concealed Crownclasp so the gold reads as one unbroken ribbon.

Functions include hours, minutes, seconds and date. Screw-down Twinlock crown sits at three o’clock. Unscrew it and wind in position one, pull to the first click for instantaneous rapid-setting of the date, then pull to the second click to set the hours and minutes while the stop-seconds feature freezes the seconds hand for a precise start. Push the crown home and screw it down to seal the case to 100 metres. Cyclops lens over the sapphire magnifies the date two and a half times, and the Calibre 2236 underneath runs a Syloxi silicon hairspring with roughly fifty-five hours of reserve.

Comes double-boxed with the outer box, green presentation box, watch cushion, guarantee card, card holder, Guarantee Manual Worldwide Service booklet and green Superlative Chronometer seal tag.

President bracelets are never made in steel. Rolex reserves those semi-circular links for gold and platinum alone, and the name was earned in the 1950s on the wrists of American presidents, back when a watch was the only jewellery a serious man would admit to owning. Slide it on once and the rest of the box starts negotiating for its spot.
