Set beneath sapphire, the white dial carries luminous hour markers and dots, with small seconds at 9 o’clock and the date at 3 o’clock. Carved from brushed steel, the case gives the Submersible its broad, purposeful silhouette. Draped across the wrist in military green rubber, the strap fastens with a trapezoidal brushed steel buckle.

Functions include hours, minutes, small seconds, date, and dive timing. The crown sits on the right side of the case, locked by the lever of Panerai’s crown-protecting bridge, which lifts to release it. Pulled to the first position, the crown advances the date clockwise, so set it to yesterday’s date first. At the second position it sets the hands, so roll them past midnight onto today, then push the crown home and close the lever. The anti-clockwise rotating bezel times a dive to 300 metres, while the automatic P.900 calibre runs for three days.
