Born from the 1980s Chronomat that Breitling built for the daredevil pilots of Italy’s Frecce Tricolori aerobatic team, this is the loudest, boldest Chronomat in the family. Big personality, big wrist presence, and zero apologies. Made for the collector who still turns the music up when the good song comes on.
Presents itself in mint condition with little to no signs of wear. Set on a deep blue sunburst dial, the color moves like water as you tilt your wrist, shifting from bright azure to almost midnight. Dressed in brushed and polished stainless steel, the case flips between soft matte and bright gloss depending on how the light hits it. Wrapped in a blue rubber strap that mimics the rolls of the famous Rouleaux design, it feels soft on the skin and looks like nothing else out there.
Functions include hours, minutes, seconds, date, chronograph, tachymeter, and countdown timing. Unscrew the blue ceramic screw down crown, pull it to the first click to quick set the date, then pull it to the second click to set the time, always moving the hands forward past midnight to reach today’s date. Unscrew the two chronograph pushers before use, then use the top pusher to start and stop the chronograph and the bottom pusher to reset it. Rotate the blue ceramic bezel to track countdown timing with the four screwed rider tabs acting as minute markers. Visible through the sapphire caseback, the in house Breitling Manufacture Caliber 01 is a COSC certified self winding chronometer with around 70 hours of power reserve and 200 meters of water resistance.
Comes as a complete set, boxed with electronic warranty card and travel pouch.
Few sports chronographs pull off ceramic, steel, and rubber all at once and still look this confident. Blue on blue on blue, it works just as well under a cuff at dinner as it does on a boat deck. If you have been waiting for the one that gets noticed without trying, this is it.
