Set under a double-curved crystal, the smoked blue embossed dial ripples with tiny rings by artisan Yann von Kaenel, featured alongside tone-on-tone subdials and glowing white gold hands. Built from 18K white gold, the case hides a brushed octagon at its center and floats on openworked lugs, mixing high polish and satin like a tuxedo with a twist. Framed by a sapphire caseback, a solid gold rotor cut in the shape of the AP monogram sweeps over Côtes de Genève bridges, a private show only the owner gets to see. Every setting runs through one signed crown at 3 o’clock with no correctors or tools needed, and about 35 clockwise turns with the crown pushed in fully winds it. Pull the crown all the way out to set the time and 24-hour display, and park the 24-hour hand outside its red zone of 9 p.m. to 3 a.m. before touching the calendar. At the first pull, turn the crown clockwise to set the date or counterclockwise to set the month and leap year. Push it from the fully pulled position back to the first pull, then turn clockwise to set the week and day or counterclockwise to set the moon phase, and push it all the way in when done.
