Born from a design Cartier developed for the aviator Alberto Santos-Dumont, this Medium carries pioneering aviation heritage at a more intimate scale. Made for the collector who prefers legacy worn quietly, it moves easily from boardroom to weekend.
Presents itself in brand new condition with no signs of wear. Set against a silvered opaline dial, Roman numerals and blued sword hands read crisp and classic, with a secret Cartier signature tucked into the VII. Framed by a polished steel bezel and its exposed screws, the design wears its engineering with pride. Carved from steel, the square case measures 35.1 mm wide and about 8.8 mm thick, slim enough for all-day comfort.
Functions include hours, minutes, seconds. The seven-sided crown, set with a faceted blue synthetic spinel, sits at 3 o’clock and winds the movement by hand. Pulled out, it stops the seconds hand so the time can be set precisely, and pushing it back in restarts the movement. After a long rest, wind the crown until the movement wakes before setting the time. Inside runs the in-house caliber 1847 MC, offering more than a full day of power reserve and water resistance rated to 100 meters.
Comes as a full set, boxed with warranty documentation.
A QuickSwitch tab between the lugs releases the strap with a simple press and slide, so the look can change as fast as the plans do. For the collector who loves aviation roots in a refined, smaller package, it deserves a closer look on your wrist.
