Named after “Lake Suwa”, the shallow lake near Grand Seiko’s Shinshu studio, this dial catches that water as an early morning breeze stirs its surface. Made for the collector who owns the usual names and now wants something quieter and deeply Japanese. Wear it once, and the rest of the collection feels a little loud.

Presents itself in mint condition with little to no signs of wear. Set against a light titanium case, the blue Minamo dial drifts from soft sky to deep ocean as light moves across its finely textured ripples. Carved from high-intensity titanium, the case pairs hairline brushing with mirror Zaratsu bevels, yet wears lighter than steel. Behind the exhibition caseback, the Spring Drive movement shows frosted bridges, blued screws, and a live power reserve marking how much of its five days is left.

Functions include hours, minutes, seconds, and date. Unscrew the crown at three o’clock, then click to the first position to quick set the date and pull fully to hack the seconds for setting the second. If it has sat past five days, wind about forty turns first, then quick set the date straight to today. Avoid quick setting the date between nine at night and one in the morning, when the change gears are engaged. Fully wound, it holds roughly 120 hours and resists water to 100 meters for everyday splashes.
